Didasko: Jurnal Teologi dan Pendidikan Kristen is committed to upholding the highest standards of publication ethics by adhering to the guidelines of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE). All parties involved in the publication process—authors, editors, reviewers, and the publisher—are expected to comply with the following ethical standards:
1. Responsibilities of Authors
a. Reporting Standards
Authors must present their research accurately, honestly, and objectively. Data must not be fabricated, falsified, or manipulated. Manuscripts should provide sufficient methodological details and references to allow replication.
b. Originality and Plagiarism
Authors must ensure that their work is entirely original. Any use of others’ work must be properly cited. Direct quotations must be clearly indicated in accordance with citation standards.
c. Multiple or Redundant Publication
Authors must not submit the same manuscript to more than one journal simultaneously. Duplicate or redundant publication constitutes unethical behavior.
d. Acknowledgment of Sources
All sources of data, theories, and references must be properly acknowledged in the manuscript.
e. Authorship
Authorship should be limited to individuals who have made significant contributions to the research (concept, design, execution, or interpretation). All listed authors must approve the final version of the manuscript prior to submission.
f. Disclosure of Conflicts of Interest
Authors must disclose any financial or substantive conflicts of interest that may influence the interpretation of the research findings.
g. Corrections of Published Work
If authors discover significant errors or inaccuracies in their published work, they are obligated to promptly notify the editor to correct or retract the article.
2. Responsibilities of Editors
a. Publication Decisions
Editors are responsible for deciding which manuscripts are accepted or rejected based on originality, validity, relevance, and scholarly contribution.
b. Review Process
Editors must ensure that the peer review process is objective, fair, and transparent. Reviewers should be selected based on expertise and absence of conflicts of interest.
c. Fair Play
Manuscripts must be evaluated solely on their academic merit without discrimination based on gender, religion, ethnicity, nationality, or other personal characteristics.
d. Confidentiality
Editors must maintain the confidentiality of submitted manuscripts and must not use unpublished materials for personal advantage.
e. Conflict of Interest
Editors must not be involved in decisions regarding manuscripts in which they have personal or professional conflicts of interest.
3. Responsibilities of Reviewers
a. Confidentiality
Reviewers must treat manuscripts as confidential documents and must not share them without the editor’s permission.
b. Objectivity
Reviews should be conducted objectively, providing constructive feedback supported by clear academic arguments to improve the quality of the manuscript.
c. Acknowledgment of Sources
Reviewers should identify relevant literature not cited by the authors and report any suspicion of plagiarism or duplicate publication.
d. Conflict of Interest
Reviewers must avoid any conflicts of interest with the authors or research topics. Information obtained during the review process must not be used for personal benefit.
e. Timeliness
Reviewers are expected to complete their evaluations within the specified timeframe. If unable to do so, they must inform the editor promptly so the manuscript can be reassigned.
Through the implementation of these ethical principles, Didasko: Journal of Theology and Christian Religious Education ensures the integrity, credibility, and academic quality of all published works.
