Contemporary society is increasingly shaped by a form of radical individualism that treats freedom as an absolute right detached from social responsibility. The prevailing moral attitude among modern generations can be summed up in the phrase, “as long as I do not harm others, I am free to do whatever I want.” This mindset echoes John Stuart Mill’s harm principle, which regards the avoidance of harm to others as the only moral boundary of human action. This study seeks to examine the phenomenon of moral minimalism in Indonesian society through the lens of Christian apologetics, focusing on Galatians 5:13-15 as a theological foundation for understanding the true nature of freedom. Employing a qualitative method and a library-based approach, the research draws upon primary sources from Scripture and secondary sources from theological, philosophical, and sociological literature. Through biblical and apologetic analysis, this study explores how Paul’s teaching challenges modern ethical reasoning that stops at the level of “not harming” yet fails to cultivate genuine love.
